Conference by Agnès Ghenassia
If the term expressionist is appropriate to qualify the work of Baselitz, it does not take into account his extraordinary capacity for renewal. A single constant through many stylistic breaks: the artist always stands up “against”: against the dictates of the post-war GDR, against abstraction, against all the traditions linked to figurative painting.
Whether he draws on history, art history or his personal story, his work, both brutal and subtle, makes him a major artist who deserves our full attention.
Conference on Tuesday the 12th of April 2022 à 10:30 am
ENTRY FEE FOR MEMBERS : 5€
NON MEMBERS : 7€
The conference will be held at the 6MIC (Salle des Musiques Actuelles du Pays d’Aix), located at the entrance to the new Constance district in Aix-en-Provence, a few hundred meters from the Vasarely Foundation, at the level of the chemin des Aubépines.
